On June 6th, UC Santa Cruz students and workers held multiple rallies and confronted Chancellor Denice Denton to demand affirmative diversity on campus. Workers and students are charging UCSC with active institutional racism and sexism by sustaining hidden systematic policies and practices that have the effect of disadvantaging students, faculty and workers of color. Affirmative diversity means actively working against the status quo of institutional racism and sexism at UCSC. Denton Is Uncomfortable Watching Diversity Skit
 uncomfortable_6-6-06.jpg Chancellor Denton only watched the skit for a few minutes. She was more or less forced to watch the skit since there was a large group of people between the car she wanted to drive away in and the road out. After watching just a few minutes of the skit, Chancellor Denton turned her back on the theatrical educational performance and got in the car. Everybody cleared a path to allow Denton to drive away.
