Indigenous peoples and campesinos march June 3, Saturday, to receive land titles from President Morales in Bolivia
Indigenous peoples and campesinos march June 3, Saturday, to receive land titles from President Morales in Bolivia. The titles of TCO of Monteverde and others are going to be granted, this is an historic moment for which campesinos have fought and died. Then also Morales will sign the new agrarian reform that day and for this reason it is going to be a great event in the struggle by the MST(Movimiento Sin Tierra) in Bolivia.
The People will be marching from Santa Cruz, a bastion of racism and violent hostility to indigenous groups, especially. It is the Deep South of Bolivia, politically, with over half the country's oil wells. Nacion Camba, a white supremacist youth group comparable to the KKK, has attacked peaceful marches in the past.
Hopefully the new political climate will offer more than land titles.
