Haiti: FOIAs Reveal USAID/IRI Election Manipulation

by Narco News
FOIAs reveal that the International Republican Institute (IRI) has worked with OPL (Organisation du Peuple en Lutte) to facilitate the creation of an anti-Lavalas socialist coalition. FOIAs also reveal USAID $3m program with UNOPS in order to "even the playing field" for elections.

Recent FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests to USAID show that the IRI facilitated the creation of a socialist coalition between OPL, PANPRA, KONAKOM, and Ayiti Kapab.

Other FOIAs reveal USAID's $3,000,000 USD grant to UNOPS has the first objective to "even the playing field."

Research shows that Marc Bazin's "moderate Lavalas" candidacy has been facilitated and supported by the IRI. (more on this to come)

This provides further evidence showing that USAID and the IRI have continually worked to undermine, discredit, and splinter Fanmi Lavalas, the popular movement of the poor in Haiti.
