What: Press conference and rally at the Placer Co. Superior Court in support of Steven Wynn Kubby, medical cannabis patient, who is being denied proper medical care while in custody.
When: Tuesday, January 31st, 2006; 12 Noon
Where: Department 13, Placer Co. Superior Court; 11532 B Avenue; Auburn, California link to Mapquest
Why: We request all medical cannabis patients, caregivers and friends join us in supporting Steve Kubby 59, a Drug War political prisoner, Prop 215 co-author and former Libertarian candidate for CA, in his legal struggles with Placer Co. authorities as he battles for his life while in solitary confinement.
We demand that Mr. Kubby be transferred from solitary confinement to the infirmary [where he can receive medical care] and that he be administered his life-giving medicinal cannabis immediately!
Steve's medical condition is rapidly deteriorating, as he is ill with a rare form of adrenal cancer, which creates tumors that produce deadly amounts of adrenaline which enter his blood stream. He is in grave mortal danger and requires constant medical supervision. We believe his treatment by Placer Co. authorities constitute cruel and unusual punishment, for which they will be held accountable by the citizens of the state of California.
