"Ms. Topfree" for Cal. Lt. Gov. in 2006 ?

by EvokePeaceInCalifornia
( a not-so-modest proposal )
California TOPFREE candidate in 2006?
.......

Remember California's weird recall election,
when Arnie wasn't QUITE the oddest
of more than a hundred hopeful candidates?
Some had good platforms,
while some had interesting ways of getting attention.
Most had neither.

In June 2006, Arnie and his rivals will compete in various party primaries
(Republican, Democratic, and several micro-parties).

Then, for each office, the nominee of each official party will appear in November on the general ballot. Most November candidates, including good folks, will be rather boring.

Let's imagine a peace candidate who ISN'T boring....

Such as one of those anti-war womyn who publicly demonstrated topfree (bare-breasted)
outdoors in 2005,
in several California towns and cities.

Rather than running for governor,
a topfree peace candidate should aim at
the obsolete, useless, and near-powerless office
of Lieutenant Governor.
And her platform should include
a proposal to ABOLISH this office,
by amending our state constitution.

She should tell California voters,
"If you vote for me, your vote will be seen as a demand for abolition
of the Lieutenant Governorship of California --
the most useless elective office in our state government.
If enough people vote for me,
our state legislators may get the message,
and so they may submit such a constitutional amendment
to the voters.
If I were to be elected,
I would lobby the legislators to do so."

She must run in the June primary of the party
in which she is already registered --
a Democrat in the Democratic primary,
a Green in the Green primary, and so forth.
If she runs in a major party (Democratic or Republican),
her campaign will end in early June.

If she runs in the Peace and Freedom Party,
the Green Party,
the Libertarian Party,
or the Natural Law Party,
her campaign might continue
until early November.

Time is short.
If any activist California womon dares to do this,
she needs to begin very quickly.
