Processed Chocolate Contains Lead

Chocolate is very powerfully able to create muscle tension & pain. Chocolate contains both Caffeine & Theobromine. Both are toxic. Caffeine is a CNS (central nervous system) stimulant, so it creates a stress reaction, fight-or-flight syndrome, which lowers your pain threshold. Theobromine is a muscle stimulant, so it makes your muscles tense. The combo = pain for many people.
I encourage all my Massage Therapy clients to get off all of the caffeine drugs. This can reduce or even eliminate chronic pain. I can sense a difference in someone's body if they start or stop using.
Please tell people about my anti-caffeine page:

Prison Term For Advocating Natural Food? - It's a reality.
Yes, that is a reality if the "Qualified Dieticians" in the USA have their way. They feel threatened by the naturopaths and want a law which advocates imprisonment if even a mother advocates natural methods to her children. This is the twenty first century folks. We ain't natural no more.

GOP May Attach Arctic Drilling to Pentagon Budget
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2005/121505Q.shtml

Stop devious last-minute addition of drilling in Arctic Wildlife National Refuge!
Superceding my original Patriot Act message- the White House is about to pull a fast one- they claim they have reached an agreement with John McCain on his anti-torture amendment. Judging from the immense pressure exerted by Bush and Cheney to preserve and protect their torturing behavior, I do not trust them and believe they will find devious ways to get around it. For example, they have been toying with changing definitions in the Army Field Manual- which is the document that McCain's amendment clings to. And they have been toying with amnesty for those who break the torture law and with allowing testimony obtained by torture. In exchange for placing this piece of cheese in the trap, they have re-added drilling in the Arctic Wildlife! National Refuge!!!!

BRAZIL: TOP OFFICIALS ACCUSED OF GENOCIDE OF INDIANS
http://survival-international.org/news.php?id=1258

The Crisis: This winter, we can expect to see more and more evidence of a coming oil and natural gas crisis. Long term predictions for oil prices are heading towards $100 a barrel. The price of natural gas is expected to skyrocket over the next couple of months, making it increasingly difficult for many people to heat their homes during the coldest months of 2006.

What's more, world leaders refuse to acknowledge this coming crisis. Most governments will not take significant action to prepare for the serious and immediate threats that oil & gas depletion and climate change pose, both to humans and to our natural environment.

Our Response: Post Carbon Institute is actively working to help communities reduce their energy consumption and fossil fuel dependency in several ways.

Relocalization Network: We develop practical tools to help communities live more locally. Our initiatives include local energy farms, community supported manufacturing and car co-operatives. Our Relocalization Network currently has 56 Post Carbon community groups and continues to grow weekly.

Municipal Action Plan: We work with municipal governments to help them create practical plans for energy peak and descent.

Oil Depletion Protocol: We promote an international protocol which calls on local, regional and national governments to reduce their oil production and consumption.

# Panel Discussion: Int'l Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers
Dec 17 10AM-2PM $5 donation

Dec 17th, Third Annual International Day to End Violence Against Sex
Workers

International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers is meant to
call attention to hate crimes and violence against sex workers all
over the globe. Originally thought of by Dr. Annie Sprinkle and
started by the Sex Workers Outreach Project USA as a memorial and
vigil for the victims of the Green River Killer in Seattle
Washington, it has grown to be a day for strategizing to end these
acts as well as remember the victims. Over thirty cities around the
world have participated in this event.

This year Sex Workers Outreach Project is expanding events to cover
the entire week of December 17th so that we may diversify the forums
for discussion around violence against sex workers.

The Panel Discussion portion of these events on Dec. 17th from
10AM-2PM will focus on both identifying forms of violence against sex
workers, including structural violence and stigmatization, as well as
thinking of solutions. Panelists will include sex workers' rights
activists, sex workers, prison abolitionists, law enforcement, and more!

Our tentative schedule for this entire week is as follows:

Berkeley:
Thursday, December 15th: 6:30 PM-8:30 PM
Memorial and Community Discussion
Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists
1924 Cedar x Bonita

Oakland:
Saturday, December 17th: 10 AM-2 PM
Ending Violence, Discrimination and Stigma Around Sex Work
YWCA,
1515 Webster St.
Panel discussion in the morning followed by lunch and afternoon
strategizing. $5 donation requested.

San Francisco:
Saturday December 17th : Dusk
Candlelight Vigil
Civic Center Plaza
Polk and Grove St In front of City Hall

Mark your calendars and keep your eyes peeled for more information
about these events!

What can YOU do to participate in the INTERNATIONAL DAY TO END
VIOLENCE AGAINST SEX WORKERS?

One of the ways to contribute to this event is to submit original
artwork and or written word to be displayed at the candle light vigil
in Civic Center at dusk on December 17th. Make yourself heard in the
fight against this violence. Please submit your personal response to
violence against sex workers, your vision of a better future for sex
workers, and your message to the victims and/or perpetrators of these
tragedies.

You can send or drop off your submissions Sex Workers Outreach

# Hello friends,
There will be a Holiday Really Really Free Market next Saturday the 17th. This time of year, we are bombarded with so many ads and messages that equate "giving" with shopping, commercialism, and being something that you "have" to do! But it doesn't have to be that way! Come experience giving for the simple enjoyment of it, without being burdened by money or barter!

Saturday Dec 17th, 12pm-4pm, Dolores Park, San Francisco.

We need help with making flyers and getting the word out, so if you want to do that, feel free to make your own flyers or get in touch with Ray at rsykes1710 [at] yahoo.com to work on one together

Don't forget that the RRFM isn't just about stuff! You can also gift your talents by juggling, playing music, teaching a workshop, or whatever else pleases you!

This a special, "extra" RRFM, so we will still be having the regular last-saturday-of-the-month one on the 31st.

http://www.reallyreallyfreemarket.org

What is The Really REALLY Free Market?
It's like a large community-wide garage sale, except everything is
FREE! Yes, that's right, FREE! Everyone is invitied to bring things to
GIVE
AWAY!

So this is like bartering or trading, right?
Nope. Bartering and trading go something like this: I've got this great
shirt here, what can you offer me for it? The RRFM goes something like
this: I've got this really great shirt here. I don't really wear it
anymore, but I'd hate to see it go to waste. Do you want it? Great! Here,
it's yours!

Why would i want to do a thing like that?
Because you have to many things already! Because you're just going to
throw it away anyway. Because it FEELS GOOD! Do you have things
cluttering up your home? Maybe some stuff that you don't use anymore, but you
know that someone else would probably love. One person's trash can truly
be another person's treasure!

What should I bring?
Bring *your thing* to the RRFM, whatever that is! Material goods, food
or drinks, a service to provide, a skill you have that you want to
teach to others, a performance, or anything else!

What if I don't have anything to give away?
Everyone has something to give to others. The RRFM isn't just about
giving away *stuff.* What is it that you do? Why not come to the RRFM and
find a way to do it for others, except this time for free just for the
fun of it. As a gift to others, as a gift to yourself. It's a way of
reclaiming meaning in your job, to give it as a gift, unmediated by
commerce.

Who runs the RRFM?
Well, the RRFM consists of the sum of its participants. The gift you
bring to the event, helps create what the event is for others, just as
what others bring to the event, creates what the event is for you. That
said, there are some folks who came together to help create the
structure for the RRFM to work. But it is our hope that soon enough, our role
within the RRFM will be the same as everyone else's. That is, that each
of us decides our own level of involvement.

The RRFM is yours!
Take advantageous of that. Make it what you want it to be! If you want
to see something happening at the RRFM that isn't already happening,
than make it happen! If you want to see more people coming to the RRFM,
help spread the word! Send emails to your friends, make and distribute
flyers (make your own or download them from the website), talk to people
about the RRFM.
----
Please help us keep the RRFM a 100% FREE and non-commercial event. Once
a month, let's come together and forget about trading, bartering, and
money. Leave the business cards at home and remember the joy of giving
for the sake of giving. Help us keep Dolores Park clean. If no one
takes what you brought, please bring it home with you. If you like what you
just read, get involved! Come to the RRFM! Bring your own gifts to
share! Spread the info, and get more people involved! The RRFM takes YOU to
make it happen.

I highly recommend this, as in, it's one of the best raw foods lectures,
if not the best I have ever seen (and I've seen many dozens, incl. raw
passion, Int'l Raw Food Festival in Oregon, etc.). Ater her lecture/book
now, I use green drinks for detox, but do more green smoothies... the
smoothies fill you up for longer (and cheaper). I do one every day now, at
least. It's taken me to a whole better level. Hopefully every raw
restaurant will push them (and why not, they will fill up your customers
with greens, for less cost to the restaurant). JP

Mon Dec 19

# This Monday, December 19 will be a CRITICAL HEARING at the San Francisco
Ethics Commission regarding our legislation for public financing of the
mayor’s race. The Ethics Commission will vote whether to send the
legislation to the Board of Supervisors for adoption. WE MUST WIN THIS VOTE.
We greatly need your attendance and testimony at this hearing. Here are the
details:

What: Ethics Commission hearing and vote about public financing legislation
When:  Monday, December 19, 6 PM
Where:  City Hall,  Room 408 (4th floor), San Francisco

(Please forward this to you own email lists)

Update: Recently we won the endorsement of key organizations for our
legislation, including the San Francisco Labor Council, League of Women
Voters, and the San Francisco Democratic Party. This important legislation
introduced by Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi has the endorsement of over 50
organizations and 13 elected officials, including a majority of the Board of
Supervisors. Momentum is on our side, but we cannot take anything for
granted.

The vote by the Ethics Commission is crucial, and WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!! We
need to turn out dozens of supporters in order to make sure that the city
knows that the public supports this legislation.

This is the first agenda item on Monday night, so please arrive as close to
6 pm as you can. Afterwards, we will head over to Soluna Lounge for drinks,
music and celebration. Please join us.

If you don’t mind, confirm your attendance on our Evite:

http://www.evite.com/pages/invite/viewInvite.jsp?inviteId=HWCIAETWOLDRLBCZGYIP&li=iq&src=email

# Support Publicly-Financed Elections in San Francisco
San Francisco is ready to take a very important step towards getting big money out of mayoral campaigns. This Monday, December 19, the Ethics Commission will vote on a proposal to provide partial public-financing to mayoral candidates who demonstrate a broad base of support in the City. Public-financing of elections levels the playing field so that ordinary citizens from diverse backgrounds can run for mayor; and, since candidates running for office under public financing are not completely engaged in the chase for campaign contributions, it gives voters a more powerful voice in the political process.

By publicly funding the campaigns of candidates for public office, politicians don’t need to rely on wealthy donors in order to wage competitive campaigns. That means that politicians are free to make decisions in the best interests of the public, rather than campaign contributors.

We need your help to let the Ethics Commissioners know that we support public finance. Please join us at the Commission hearing on December 19 to support this historic decision.

WHEN and WHERE:

6:00 PM. December 19
Room 408, City Hall
1 Carlton B. Goodlett Place
San Francisco

California Common Cause has been working with San Franciscans for Voter Owned Elections, a coalition of San Francisco residents and organizations concerned about the health of our democracy, to increase support and visibility for this proposal.

Supporters include:

* League of Women Voters
* SPUR (San Francisco Planning & Urban Research Association)
* Service Employees International Union, Local 790
* Asian American Political Coalition
* Mexican American Political Association
* Sierra Club
* California Public Interest Research Group (CALPIRG)

To see a full-list of the dozens of supporters, and to learn more about the proposal, please visit http://www.voterownedelections.org.

# Unsilent Night Wed Dec 21 6:45 PM Free

"Unsilent Night," composer Phil Kline's free, all-volunteer outdoor
boombox holiday concert, returns to San Francisco for its third
annual performance on Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at 6:45 PM.

A moving piece of ambient public art, Unsilent Night can be compared
to a holiday caroling party, except that participants don't sing.
Instead, each carries a boombox playing a separate cassette, CD, or
MP3 that becomes part of the piece. In effect, Kline and his co-
performers become single elements in a huge, mobile sound system.

Performed within the confines of the city streets, Unsilent Night
reverberates off the cars and buildings, resulting in a magnificent,
drifting cloud of shimmering, echoing sound. The 43-minute piece
includes chiming bells, choral voices, and various electronic
effects. (Kline cites Brian Eno and Charles Ives among his influences.)

Kline has performed Unsilent Night in Manhattan every year city since
1992. In San Francisco last year, some 500 people took part. This
year marks the first chance for iPod users to participate, as Kline
will make MP3 files of the piece available on his website.

Participants are invited to bring a boombox to Mission Dolores Park
at 18th and Dolores Streets, gathering at 6:45 PM. After Kline
distributes tapes and CDs among the players, the group will begin the
piece, strolling a mile-long, predetermined route though the Mission,
Noe, and Castro districts. The event will be held rain or shine.

Dolores Park 18th and Dolores St San Francsico

2006

Global IMPEACH Bush -Day January 1, 2006 and the year of 2006 to Do It
Unless you are in favor of invading and occupying innocent countries for
their oil, Killing and torturing innocent people and turning the whole
World against the United Stated and bankrupting the US Citizens and
driving the US into a depression that will make the depression of 1929
look like a Sunday picnic* during which we will probably be invaded and
taken over during our weakness caused by it.
During the1929 Depression the US population was much smaller and
people lived on farms or in houses that had a yard where they could grow
vegetables to get by during the depression and people helped their
neighbors.
Do you have room to grow vegetables in your apartment, condo, town
house ? And have you ever even spoken to Your neighbors ? !

Film is FREE but $5 donations are accepted.

Film Series on Animal Agony Double Feature:

Fostering Cruelty in Chicken Production
45 Days: The Life and Death of a Broiler Chicken

Presented by Christine Morrissey
East Bay Animal Advocates

The first documentary film this evening is a new mini-documentary
produced by East Bay Animal Advocates. It reveals that Foster Farms
violates animal cruelty laws, performs unfair labor practices and
misleads the public. Each week Foster Farms, California's largest
poultry producer, slaughters five million chickens for food. The film
features interviews with Foster Farms employees and scenes of animal
cruelty at Foster Farms in California. http://www.fosterfacts.net

The second documentary of the evening is produced by Compassion Over
Killing. It exposes the broiler industry with its disregard for
animal welfare. It features investigative footage from hatching and
factory-farm life to slaughter and packaging.
