Large U.S. liberal Protestant denomination votes to support same-sex marriages.

endorses same-sex marriages:

[ UCC is the largest U.S. Christian denomination, so far,
to support gay marriage.
However, each local congregation remains free
to do as it pleases.

QN invents "the Suburban Homosexual Outreach Project [SHOP] (same-sex kiss-ins at shopping malls)
and Queer Nights Out (invasions of straight bars and other venues)."
QN generally accepts bi and trans people, and tries to include all colors and classes.
By 1993, the "radical activism of ACT UP, Queer Nation, and the Lesbian Avengers" declines.
"But Queer Nation nevertheless made a lasting impact on the movement," writes queerstorian Liz Highleyman. "The once-shocking term 'queer' has become de rigueur, and many gay and lesbian groups now include bisexual and transgender people as a matter of course."
