Iraqi Resistance Report for events of Monday, 25 April 2005. Translated and/or compiled by Muhammad Abu Nasr, member, editorial board, the Free Arab Voice. http://www.freearabvoice.org

Monday, 25 April 2005.
Al-Anbar Province.
Al-Qa’im.
Second puppet commander in al-Qa’im in days liquidated by Resistance.

Iraqi Resistance forces liquidated Brigadier General Idris Ahmad, the commander of Iraqi puppet forces in the cities of al-Qa’im and Hasibah on the border with Syria. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Qa’im reported that General Idris was made commander of the puppet forces in the area only a few days ago, succeeding another puppet general who was also executed by the Resistance.

Captain Nabil Fadil of Iraqi puppet forces in the city reported that General Ahmad was on his way to Baghdad on leave when the Resistance caught up with him on the outskirts of the city and fired two rockets that struck his car and another military Nissan in his motorcade, killing him along with five of his companions. The correspondent reported that the puppet so-called “Iraqi defense ministry” had so far not reported the assassination.

As-Saqlawiyah.
Resistance martyrdom bomb attack reportedly kills 11 US Marines Monday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden Chevrolet into a US Marine patrol in the city of as-Saqlawiyah, north of al-Fallujah at about 10am local time Monday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam, reported Corporal John Avis of the US Marines as saying that the blast targeted a “security patrol,” killing the Resistance fighter and wounding a number of US troops to varying degrees.

But First Lieutenant Layth Muhammad of the puppet so-called “Iraqi rapid deployment forces” told the correspondent that the blast destroyed on Zil troop transport and a Humvee and left 11 US troops dead and a number of others wounded.

The correspondent wrote that it appeared that the number of US troops killed was relatively large since several armored vehicles and personnel carriers were called in to the scene to evacuate the dead and wounded to the US base in the agricultural area east of al-Fallujah.

Al-‘Amiriyah.
US launches massive military operation against suburbs of al-Fallujah at dawn Monday.

US occupation forces backed up by Iraqi puppet troops launched a massive military campaign at dawn on Monday against al-‘Amiriyah, (25km south of al-Fallujah), al-Bu ‘Isa, (20km west of al-Fallujah), and as-Saqlawiyah (20km north of al-Fallujah). The Americans called their operation “cut off the wing” in reference to those towns in the suburbs of al-Fallujah.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet army as saying that more than 100 US military vehicles with helicopter gunships providing air cover attacked the towns with Iraqi puppet troops in tow. They first sealed them off, preventing anyone entering or leaving, and then used loudspeakers to announce that Monday’s attack aims at cracking down on the Resistance forces, or as the Americans call them “terrorists,” and capturing them. The Americans said their campaign follows receipt of information that there were Resistance forces in the area.

The correspondent in the city confirmed that there had been no buildup of Resistance forces nor had the Resistance clashed with US forces, in contrast to reports of some Arab and western satellite news station reports.

In general, witnesses described the situation in the towns as completely paralyzed. Schools were closed even though it is exam week for students. There appeared to be no employees working in the official buildings. The people are staying indoors at home waiting to see what will happen.

Two Mafkarat al-Islam correspondents in as-Saqlawiyah and al-‘Amiriyah reported that US forces had made a mistake when they named their operation “cutting off the wing” because that constitutes a clear recognition that they had come under attack in al-Fallujah from forces receiving support from the suburbs. That in itself shows that US forces have been coming under attack, despite their silence and that of Arab media as well regarding such Resistance activity.

US forces withdraw empty handed from al-‘Amiriyah late Monday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 6:45pm Monday night Mecca time, the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in al-‘Amiriyah reported that a short while before, US troops had withdrawn from the city after carrying out searches of a few houses in the city in which they found nothing.

The correspondent reported a number of Resistance commanders in the city as saying that the aim of the US operation on Monday was “to provoke us to come out and show ourselves and start a battle on unequal terms with them in which we might suffer great losses.”

The commanders said, “but we understood what their plan was and kept quiet and told all the armed organizations not to oppose them the Americans if they come into al-‘Amiriyah or its environs because no matter how long they stay on the edge of the city or search through it they won’t find so much as one bullet or one weapon, because we’ve taken security precautions for everything.”

The Americans, therefore, withdrew empty handed, but not before first blasting and destroying the electric power generator with their weapons in what local people, left without power, regarded as an act of revenge.

Resistance attacks US patrol trying to re-enter al-‘Amiriyah late Monday night.

In a dispatch posted at 10:10pm Sunday night, Mecca time, the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in al-‘Amiriyah reported that a short while earlier, an American patrol tried to re-enter al-‘Amiriyah after the US withdrawal from the city earlier in the evening. When the US patrol, made up of several vehicles, entered the city, a high-explosive Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded on the main street heavily damaging one US armored vehicle. Resistance fighters also fired a rocket-propellde grenade at a Humvee setting it ablaze.

After the attack, US forces surrounded the area at 10:35pm local time. No further information was available on the extent of casualties inflicted on the US invaders by the attack.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance pounds US base in al-Fallujah area.

In a dispatch posted at 12:35pm Mecca time Monday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a few minutes earlier Iraqi Resistance forces had bombarded the US military base in the agricultural area east of al-Fallujah. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the area reported witnesses as saying that more than six rockets blasted the American facility and that at the time of writing the bombardment was still underway.

On Monday, US forces launched massive sweeps of towns near al-Fallujah in an attempt to crack down on the Resistance. It appears that the Resistance took the opportunity to hit back at the Americans’ base itself.

Baghdad.
Resistance bomb blasts US armored column in Abu Ghurayb midday Monday.

A high-explosive Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a column of several armored and armor-plated vehicles in Abu Ghurayb at 1pm Monday, local time. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that the blast occurred in the al-Ba‘th neighborhood and that a number of US troops were killed and others wounded. The bomb left two US vehicles on fire. After the attack, American forces surrounded the area and prevented newsmen approaching, making it impossible to obtain further details.

Resistance bombards “green zone” as puppet “national assembly” opens session.

In a dispatch posted at 2:10pm Mecca time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that four powerful explosions timed to coincide with the first hour of the first session of the puppet so-called “Iraqi national assembly” shook the area of the Republican Palace in Baghdad – known to the invaders as the “green zone.”

The explosions sent up plumes of dense black smoke that were still rising into the sky shortly after the attack when the correspondent filed his report. A source in the “green zone” told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blasts were the result of an Iraqi Resistance rocket barrage. The source said the type of rockets used in the attack was unknown and offered no further details.

Four Americans reported killed in noon bombing in ad-Durah.

A high-explosive Iraqi Resistance land mine blew up by a US patrol of several Humvees on the main road linking the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah with the al-Bayya‘ area at about 12 noon Monday, local time.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the traffic police in the area as saying that a land mine was planted by the side of the road and that it exploded as the US patrol passed by, destroying one Humvee and killing four US troops and moderately wounding two more.

Afterwards, American forces surrounded the area, sealing off all the roads as they brought in two military ambulances to evacuate their dead and wounded.

Babil Province.
Al-Mahmudiyah.
Resistance barrage pounds US base west of al-Mahmudiyah Monday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired five Katyusha rockets into the US base known as al-Luhum, west of the city of al-Mahmudiyah, which lies south of Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Mahmudiyah reported a source in the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard” as saying that the rockets blasted into the US base at 3pm local time Monday afternoon, causing serious damage to the base. The source gave no details as to what exactly that damage consisted of, but US helicopters were seen prowling the area around the base for about half an hour after the barrage.

The Army of the Partisans of the Sunnah Prophet’s Practice Resistance organization announced its responsibility for the attack in a communiqué that was distributed around al-Mahmudiyah.

Salah ad-Din Province.
Bayji.
Resistance ambushes US convoy killing four Americans, Turkish truck driver.

Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a group of US trucks loaded with supplies for the US military on the road linking Bayji with Baghdad on Monday. The attack lefts four American troops and the Turkish driver of one of the trucks dead.

The Bayji correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet so-called “external road police” as saying that a convoy of US trucks loaded with supplies for the American occupation army was heading towards the American base in Samarra’ when the Iraqi Resistance fired shoulder-launched RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades at them. The two trucks were destroyed and four Americans inside killed. The Turkish driver of a third truck was also killed when the explosions damaged his vehicle leaving him stranded in the road. The Resistance opened fire on him with their machineguns, killing him instantly.

After the attack US forces surrounded the area and imposed a ban on traffic. For a full hour they combed the area in search of the Resistance fighters who mounted the attack but found nothing.

At-Tarimiyah.
Resistance bomb leaves three US troops dead, four wounded.

An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded in the al-Bu ‘Amir area of at-Tarimiyah, north of Baghdad, disabling an American armored vehicle and killing three US troops and wounding four more, the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the city reported witnesses as saying.

In a dispatch posted at 6:55pm Mecca time Monday evening, the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent wrote that a puppet “government” source in the local puppet police said that US forces had captured three persons who were near the scene of the bombing, charging them with involvement in the operation.

Ninwa Province.
Mosul.
Eight US troops reported killed in martyrdom car bombing in Mosul Monday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden black Opel car into a US military column that was halted in the al-Islah az-Zira‘i neighborhood of the northern Iraqi city of Mosul at 4pm local time Monday afternoon. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the city reported a source in the local puppet police as saying that the blast destroyed a Humvee and killed eight US troops and wounded six more.

Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the car bomb killed more than 10 US troops and wounded six others.

For its part, the Americans encircled the area and prevented anyone from approaching as they evacuated their dead. Two US helicopters landed to transport the wounded to the al-Ghazlani base north of Mosul.

At-Ta’mim Province.
Al-Huwayjah.
Resistance shoots down American Apache helicopter.

In a dispatch posted at 5:30pm Mecca time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before, Resistance forces had shot down a US Apache helicopter over al-Huwayjah, a town near Kirkuk in northern Iraq.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Huwayjah reported eyewitnesses as saying that the US helicopter was targeted by a Resistance Strela rocket that struck the aircraft directly and set it ablaze. It crashed in flames to the earth.

Witnesses said that the Apache went down near a secondary school in the city. The correspondent went to the site of the crash, but US forces had already encircled the area, preventing him from approaching. No information was available on the fate of the crew.

My take from reading the reports is that the Resistance have decided to completely disolve with the residents of Al-Qaim or have left the city rather than having a repeat of the destruction that was caused by the US/Zion in the Falluja II battle.

I say this because this was the exact tactic used recently in the towns surrounding Falluja where the Resistance ignored the US/Zion massed armor and refused to engage them at the time of the US's choosing.

Al-Qaida in the land of the Two Rivers, who is leading the charge, issued a brief statement over the weekend on the Battle of Al-Qaim stating that the fighting was still underway but that no information was being released due to security reasons. Meanwhile Mafkarat al-Islam has issued two reports however both are light in actual details of the battle......

It sounds good.

The IR liberate the city. They draw thousands of troops and material to the border then they leave. I like it. Where too next? Grind the fucking bastards down, run them in circles and suck the life from them.
Actually, a black out seems to be in the works. The Yanks might be embarrassed at their knee jerk reaction. If the IR melted away, this will be a huge tacticle victory for the IR. They control the battles, which really they don't want, but tying up air cover should leave any one of Dummy Rummy's fourteen perminient bases highly exposed to mortars and rockets. Gives new meaning to 'the rocket's red glare'.

viva la resistance. and pound those bases, esp that big fucking CIA headquarters in the green zone, cut the cancer from the patient.

An another good message from Baqubah!!!!!
by austrian on 26.04.2005 [14:07 ]
A large number of Mujahideen have carried an all out assault on the American base in Baaqubah, east of Baghdad. The attack began by pounding the base with 52 mortar rounds and two rockets, all rounds fell inside the base, by the Grace of Allah. That must have killed a number of the cross worshippers. They came out of the base for fear of more shelling, but they did not know what the Mujahideen had prepared for them. As soon as a large column left the base to the open road, it was met by a car bomb and five pre-planted explosive devices. The explosions from the car and the devices destroyed many mechanized vehicles and killed a large number of the cross worshippers. Mujahideen then took control of the northern part of the city and were deployed throughout the roads. Neither the American forces nor the apostate guards were able to come near the Mujahideen for fear of sustaining more casualties.

More details about casualties amongst the enemies of Allah will be reported later, along with a video covering parts of the operation.

Jaish Ansar an intelligence plant
by profile on 26.04.2005 [15:25 ]
My own opinion is that this Jaish Ansar Asunnah group is an intelligence plant. There are a few reasons i think this, one being everyone knows the U.S has found it impossible to infiltrate the resistance a way of doing that is to create your own group then give it high level press coverage regarding attacks etc.Second this Jaish Group is very new,it was never heard of before and now suddenly it is all over the place.3rd Jihad Unspun is an intelligence website run out of Canada and that website is promoting this New Group.
How do you stop the resistance, first create your own then give it high level press which gains you favour with other resistance groups after a while you have groups under your wing then you wipe them out.Oldest Trick in the Book Edward Longshanks used it in 1260 AD.
The Legitamate Resistance is being set up for the Kill.

Remember JUS was set up by a Canadian Women living in Canada who recently Converted to Islam,(Really) More Like an Intelligence Operative Working for the Canadian Intelligence Agencies.Always on that site it says al qda this al qda that, when we know it is local iraqi people fighting for their homes and family.Surely JUS Would know that,so why keep saying Al qda and Now they are saying this New Group Jaish Ansar Asunnah.

True about the tactics. While the criminals concentrate their weapon on a liberated city, they left their own bases vulnerable to IR. Soon, these criminal won't have any ammunition left assuming that IR managed to destroy an important stock of ammo.

the US is fighting a losing battle
by eureka on 26.04.2005 [18:30 ]
If history of US wars is anything to go by, the US is fighting a war they cannot win. During the japanese/american segment of the 2nd world war; the americans were forced to employ extreme measures to defeat the japanese.

They had to drop two atomic bombs in order to force a japanese surrender. The japanese kamikazi tactics were a major headache to the US at that time and currently, the Iraqi martyrdom car bomber is proving a similar headache. Unfortunately, they cannot employ these extreme measures because of the potential destruction of the oilfields and their presence in Iraq would also be greatly affected.

They obviously are caught between a rock and a hard place and time is running out. This was not how this war should have panned out; two years and still counting and no sign of victory anywhere near; no light at the end of the tunnel.

The longer this war goes on the worse it will be for the americans; who have now exposed their achilles heel in clear view to the entire world. The truth is that for america to win a war, they must use massive firepower against sitting-duck targets.

It is obvious that the Syrians, the Iranians and the Venezuelans are taking notes and preparing for any haphazard american military misadventure into their territories. The americans are in a state of desperation and desperate people do desperate things at desperate times.

Their troops are clearly not designed for the long haul; firstly thet depend on too much technology. The Iraqis have done their maths; sacrifice 1 in order to destroy several, is taking its toll on the americans and it is evident that this war cannot be sustained indefinitely.

No wonder they are trying to get the Iraqis to fight and kill each other in order for them to prevail; but even this does not seem to be working.

As one of the contributors to this website has been saying: Rumsfeld has turned into Dumbsfeld.
