Lepp Hearing Postponed this Past Friday--- What?

freeman's blog HempEvolution.org

San Francisco, CA Mar 14, 2005 -- Suprising  Eddy Lepp's wife, Linda and a handful of his supporters,  Co-defendant Eddie Barnes' public defender, Tayback Willis, informed them that Eddy had been brought before a judge on Friday, only to have his hearing postponed because of the absence of his public defender, David Fermino.

The calendar had originally scheduled Eddy's status Conference for March 14, 2005 at 10 AM.  Oddly,  his hearing had been rescheduled the past Friday, with no advance notice.  This would preempt Eddy from preparing his defense. Is this an attempt by the government to subvert his legal rights?

All the judges and lawyers from the US Public Defenders office have developed the habit of handling Eddy's case like a hot potato, tossing him from courtroom to courtroom, reluctant to even grant Eddy a hearing since his most recent arrest on February 16th, 2005.

[This webmaster will begin checking all court calendars listing Eddy's case more closely and archiving them from now on...].

Eddy's next hearing is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, March 22, 2005, 9:30 AM.in Judge Marilyn Hall's court, 18th Floor; 450 Golden Gate Ave.; San Francisco, California.
