Observers needed from any city for Berkeley recount of Measure R.
As you know the original count of the Berkeley vote showed Measure R loosing
by 191 votes. Measure R was proposed to the voters of Berkeley to correct some
guidelines passed by members of the City council that severely restricted
Grow limits, permitting new Cannabis Clubs, or the relocation of old ones. In a
city this large, that is a very small amount of people to lose to.

Dear Activists:
As you know the original count of the Berkeley vote showed Measure R loosing
by 191 votes. Measure R was proposed to the voters of Berkeley to correct some
guidelines passed by members of the City council that severely restricted
Grow limits, permitting new Cannabis Clubs, or the relocation of old ones. In a
city this large, that is a very small amount of people to lose to. It could
very well be that it was a mistake. This recount could be very important to
the city, and to many of its patients. Efforts by many East Bay City Councils
have been used to curtail club growth, and severely restrict grow limits in
direct violation of Prop 215. Oakland's Clubs have been cut from 12 to 4 but only
three have been given permits. Fremont has put a hold on permitting any club
for at least a year. They are going to study the matter. The growth of San
Leandro clubs closed in Oakland are sure to bring restrictions soon. This "Back
Door" prohibitionist policy is in direct violation of the will of the voters.
Measure R and Measure Z are a direct result of restrictions placed on the
Medicinal Marijuana community by City councils that feel they have more clout than
every voter in the state.
Please come from any city to observe the recount. Please contact Dege' by

We will be having a meeting at the ASA office at 1605 Ashby Thursday,
December 9th at 7PM. This office is several blocks from Berkeley Ashby Bart. It is
bicycle friendly. We need many observers to cover slots of up to 4 to 8 hours
for the next three weeks. Please call and join us for this meeting, or call
Dege' if you might be able to help. We need your help. I will be attending the
SF ASA meeting to see if I can get more bodies. Please join us.
