# Porn in Australia lecture Wed Nov 24 7:30 pm FREE
Center for Sex & Culture presents our first FREE sex lecture at our
new space: 398 11th Street (cross Harrison) in San Francisco. Join us at
7:30 pm for Porn in Australia by Kath Albury. Albury works with the
Understanding Pornography in Australia Project, an academic study
administered by the Universities of Queensland and Sydney seeking to
learn what Australians watch, who produces it, and what role it plays in
its consumers' lives. Kath will talk about the research conducted by the
UPA Project and briefly explain some of the complications of the
Australian regualition and classification system, which is quite
different from that of the US. Kath has specialized in researching
sexuality in media and popular culture since 1996, and is an honorary
research associate in Media and Communications at the University of
Sydney. She was a delegate at the 1998 World Pornography Conference. She
is also known as comedic sexpert Nurse Nancy, conducting innovative
info-edu-tainment forums across Australia for organizations including
the AIDS Treatment Project Australia, and the National Association of
People with AIDS. Kath is a member of the Australian Society of Sex
Educators, Researchers and Therapists (NSW). Her first book *Yes Means
Yes: getting explicit about heterosex* (Allen and Unwin, 2002) was
described by BUST magazine as "the most accessible academic study of sex
and sexuality to date." Center for Sex & Culture 398 11th St. at Harrison

# PUJA RITUAL reverent and beautiful devotional ritual otherwise
'sculptured party.' In some traditions, homage to a specific diety is
emphasized. At this puja, we pay homage to the archetypal divine in
each other. We begin with elements of white tantra yoga: meditation,
pranayama, secret subtle-body (internal) yoga, mantra, mudra, kundalini
awareness, and more. A moving circle is formed, and you get the
opportunity to have a moment with other guests, sharing a specific
guided (completely non-explicit) tantric exchange, which might consist
of eye gazing or light touch. Participation in all practices is
completely optional. Meditative observance is welcome at any time. The
puja ritual is by donation, and no one is turned away for lack of
funds. Like all events at Temple, RSVP is required. Please allow at
least 2 hrs. 11/28, 12/16 http://www.tantrictemple.org/menu.html
