C is for Color -- whatever the "wrong" color may be, which often varies.

D is for Do-It-Yourself, as Demonstrated by Dodson!

E is for Erasing expendable "extras" from erotic existence.

F is for Fat, euphemized as weight, as size, as anything but FAT.

G is for Gerontophobia.

G is for Going silent, when you despair of being heard.

H is for Hope, even when nobody encourages you.

I is for Imagism.
And for I, who am unworthy of love.
And for the Invisibility of those whom society erases.

I is for Independent Living Resource Center, San Francisco,

J is for "JUST SHUT UP!
Don't even think about it, let alone ask for it..."

K is for guilty Knowledge, which nice kids categorically cannot Know.

L is for Loser.

L is for Liking sex "too much". Or "not enough".

M is for wanting More than you "deserve".

N is for No, which so often seems easier to say than Yes.

O is for Oldness, which we euphemize and patronize and Ostracize.

P is for Pre-orgasmic women, once pitied and pilloried as "frigid".

Q is for daring to bare your Queer side(s),
or for Quivering in your closet(s).

R is for repressive Rules, removing your erotic Rights.

S is for Shame, and for Self-loathing, and for Suicide.

T is for Timidity, forever postponing life 'til Tomorrow.

U is for Uglyness (as defined by your national culture,
or by some subculture,
or by Hollywood).

V is for Good Vibrations, always willing to lend you a hand.

W is for Waiting.

X is for X-rated, censored, forbidden, unspeakable, unthinkable, unwantable.

Y is for Youth -- legally "too young" to want erotic love,
according to provincial or national governments.

Z is for Zo-ophilia -- the sin and crime of loving a "wrong" species.




From A to Z, we get arrested, bashed, chastized, demonized, erased,
frowned upon, mis-governed, hated,

ignored, joked about, killed, lied to, lied about,
muffled, negated, outlawed, pitied,

quashed, repressed, shamed, taunted, used,

vilified, warned, X'd out, yawned at, zipped-up.

And yet,
from A to Z,
we the erotically erased,
will ACT UP, FIGHT BACK!
