About the organizations:
September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows is an organization of family members of victims of September 11th who have united to our turn grief into action for peace and justice. By developing and advocating peaceful options and actions in the pursuit of justice, we hope to break the cycles of violence engendered by war and terrorism, and thus to create a safer and more peaceful world for all.
Twice nominated for the Nobel peace prize, group members have traveled to Afghanistan and Iraq and been vocal advocates for peace in the wake of the 9/11 tragedy.

Military Families Speak Out is an organization of people who are opposed to war in Iraq and who have relatives or loved ones in the military. Formed in November of 2002, we have contacts with military families throughout the United States, and in other countries around the world.
"As people with family members and loved ones in the military, we have both a special need and a unique role to play in speaking out against war in Iraq. It is our loved ones who are, or have been, or will be on the battlefront. It is our loved ones who are risking injury and death. It is our loved ones who are returning scarred from their experiences. It is our loved ones who will have to live with the injuries and deaths among innocent Iraqi civilians."
