I was also shockened by the reports that tried to use the tragic events of 911 for hate propaganda. Do people have no shame at all? Using 911 as a chance to blame the Jews again was just below the belt.

There is an organized campaign to blame 911 on Muslims in general and Arabs in particular. There is no organized campaign to blame 911 on "the" Jews. There is an organized campaign to find out who was really responsible. Among the suspects are, not "the" Jews, but *some* Jews, specifically the Mossad. The Mossad had the motive, the means and the opportunity. Ergo, to exclude them from the investigation would be sloppy investigative technique. To exclude them fro the investigation, solely because they are Jews, would be racist.

The issue is not that "no jews died thus jews are guilty". That is absurd. I've never heard anyone use that argument. I have heard homophobic and anti-semitic knee-jerk arguments from the pro-war crowd. They tell one to "shut the fuck up you fucking faggot" or "kill all arabs" "nuke muslims" that kind of thing.

On the other hand, there appears to be just as much evidence of Israeli complicity as by Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and clearly more evidence implicating Israel than Iraq.

Thus Israelis is not a synonym of Jews. I know a lot of jews, not all of them are Israelis. I know several Israelis, not all of them are jews.

The question is not whether there was an "organised attempt" to blame the Jews or not. The fact is that on many hate sites the Jews were blamed for 911 as they are blamed for everything and have been blamed for everything for thousands of years. this is racially motivated propaganda "organised" or not. What I think the original article is trying to point out is that many Jews were killed on 911 and Jews from Russia remembered all those that died. They did this with dignity and genuine solidarity. The articlke was posted in response to lies and disinformation being spread about 911 I´d guess. These racially motivated rumours have crept slowly from hate sites onto IMCs and its abvout time that people started getting to the keyboard and showing these claims to be what they are bollocks. Are we not meant to be against racism here?

As to your distinction between Israel and Jews I accept that but that does not excuse anti-Jewish stereotypes in criticism of Israel. That is racism and racism is still racism whether aimed at an individual, a group of individuals or an organisation or state representing individuals. Only a fascist would describe the problems of African nations with racist stereotypes or women´s groups with sexist stereotypes. What makes it acceptable then to tar Israel with the racist brush?
