Picking at the Carcass: Perle to Present Iraq Opportunities

by Jacques Kinau (jacques_kinau [at] yahoo.fr)
Richard Perle will present an investor summit for corporations interested in Iraq opportunities. Although major U.S. corporations continue to face plummenting exports to the Arab Middle East, this summit may show whether regime change, as opposed to normal trade and engagement, can be profitable for U.S. companies.
WASHINGTON, June 5 -- Dr. Richard Perle, a leading architect of the war in Iraq, will once again present investment opportunities to interested businesses and individuals seeking opportunities amidst ongoing Middle East conflict. Mr. Perle's Goldman Sachs homeland defense opportunity conference call was such an overwhelming success, that Perle in partnership King Publishing are mounting an investor summit in Washington, D.C. next week.

The event is coming at a crucial moment as U.S. exporters to the Arab Middle East continue to face their fifth year of flagging demand for both consumer and industrial merchandise. According to some estimates, the U.S. will lose U.S. $100 billon in market share to this region over the years 1998-2007.

The Perle conference, "RECONSTRUCTION IRAQ: Contracting To Restore Critical Infrastructure," will shift the focus toward the admittedly smaller, but positive opportunity of restoring Iraq's critical infrastructure and utilities-electric power, oil, gas, and telecommunications-transportation, water, and other economic infrastructure. Perle will address the conference on June 11 at 11:15 a.m..

The conference will take place at the Cafritz Convention Center at The George Washington University, 800 21st Street NW, 3rd floor.

Other presenters will include representatives from key contractors that will play a role in rebuilding Iraq, according to conference organizer King Publishing Group.
