Arlo Hagler, in memorium

by semp
For those of you who knew Arlo Hagler, producer of KMUD's environment show,
volunteer electrician, past President of EPIC, and sound man for so many benefit, I wanted to let you know that he passed away from stomach cancer today, Saturday, October 5th at 1:27 pm surrounded by family in Garberville at his mom's house.
Below is a message recieved from Darryl Cherney regarding the loss of one of KMUD's engineers. Arlo was the producer of KMUD's environment show. He often allowed that program to run over into his own show, "Random Access" on Tuesday evenings. His appreciation for the topics on the environment show, on the occassion granted the programmers extra time to discuss and debate those topics. He was the host for all those guest programmers and call in folks of KMUD's environment show. When the environmental programmmers dropped out of the scene due to other commitments or conflicts with schedules, Arlo was there to fill in occassionaly with his own guests. Often he coordinated other programmmers to fill in for the schedule conflicts and made the environment show on Tuesday nights continue to be a reality for years and years.

For the most part, many listeners in the KMUD listening area never knew who he was, unless they paid attenttion. He was a behind the scenes man, assisting with the electrical work. He assisted the radio station during their transition from the old building to the present location of KMUD several years back. He donated countless hours of trouble shooting the broken circuits and was one of the many backbones which holds the KMUD radio station together. His contribution to the KMUD listening area will be greatly missed. may his sole rest in peace...................
