2/20: Picket at the Oakland Riders trial

A picket and press conference at the start of the Oakland Riders trial.

The infamous west Oakland riders are going on trial for their crimes
against the people. For those who do not know, these are Oakland police
officers accused of everything from kidnapping to excessive force to
falsifying evidence and more. Their trial starts Wednesday, February 20.

Let's Get Free, a project of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights (like
Books Not Bars), will be having a picket and press conference at 1pm on
the 20th to protest the way that the DA has (mis)handled this horrible case
of police corruption and abuse of power. Please come and support Let's Get
Free and our demands! We will meet at the Alameda County Courthouse
(12th and Oak) at 1pm. PLEASE BE ON TIME, as the press will (hopefully) be there.

the trial of the west oakland "night riders" has been postponed, so the picket that let's get free was planning has been cancelled. there will be NO PICKET on wedneday, february 20. sorry if this notice is a bit late, but we only just learned that an announcement for the picket had been posted here. thank you for your support and understanding. we are very appreciative of the support provided by indybay.org, and hope that everyone gets this message in time.

How come we didn't get no fuckin' picket when we got fucked on that fumble call in New England? Bad cops are everyday shit. We're talkin' fuckin' FOOTBALL here!!!!
