Amidst heavy police presence, 5-600 people rallied outside the Starbucks on 36th & Madison in Manhattan. Protesters marched to another store 2 blocks away; and then returned to the original rally spot. At the World Trade Center, hundreds gathered to the tolls of bells that symbolize solidarity and unity against the Republican National Convention. Participants, facing four directions, encircled the site and rang at least 2,749 bells for 9/11’s victims.
