A rally took place in the Baytree Plaza at UC Santa Cruz on November 7th to protest UCSC's Long Range Development Plan (LRDP) and to announce the newly launched tree-sit on Science Hill. Following the rally, people marched to Science Hill to show resistance to the LRDP and support the tree-sit.

It's been 5 years since the No Child Left Behind law was put into place, and around the nation, it has left wreckage in its wake....
Calling it No Child Left Behind gave it the benign imagery of caring for children and their futures. It's like the so-called Patriot Act -- an act, to be sure, but one so patently unconstitutional in its evisceration of the 4th Amendment (and other constitutional provisions) that no true patriot could ever support it....

Hundreds of students crowded into the College Nine-Ten Multipurpose Room on October 27th for the 5th annual Practical Activism Conference at UC Santa Cruz. The room's capacity was maxed out when Angela Davis spoke and approximately 175 students heard the speech through speakers setup outside the Multipurpose Room. Activist organizations based on campus and in the community were tabling, food was provided and the workshops were very well attended....
