Drug charges have been dismissed against a man who claimed
he was growing marijuana for medical use.
Fifty-two-year-old John Pendo spent 80 days in jail because he couldn't

No illegal drugs found in body of Johnnie Nakao
Johnnie Nakao, the troubled son of a Santa Clara County sheriff's deputy fatally shot by San Jose police in August after their Taser stun guns failed, had no trace of illegal drugs in his body, according to a medical examiner's report released Tuesday....

"Officer-Involved Shooting" in San Jose; Bosnian Immigrant Killed
The officer continued backing away from the suspect and drew his firearm as the suspect continued to hit him. The officer fired several shots at the suspect and the suspect fell to the pavement. Paramedics were called to the scene. The suspect was transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead....
