Maxxam/PL entire operations shut down temporarily!!!
The Friday following Gypsy's murder in Sep. 1998, John Campbell can be seen signing the "Headwaters Deal" in Sacramento. In a 14 page decision on August 29th, 2002, Judge John Golden has issued a temporary restraining order on all operations from the "Headwaters deal" on PL's 211,000 acres until a lawsuit filed by EPIC and the Sierra Club can be fully heard in mid September 2002. Ironically, it's almost four years later....

Four years ago David "Gypsy" Chain was felled by a PL logger who cut down one of the very same trees whose life Chain thought he was protecting. This brought timber harvesting to a sudden temporary halt. Mediators tried to find compromises.........
