US district court judge orders shutdown of whistleblower web site
Thursday, February 28, 2008 :In an extraordinary act of censorship, lawyers representing the Swiss bank Julius Baer (BJB) obtained an injunction against the Dynadot corporation, US domain name registrar for the Wikileaks web site. Judge Jeffrey White of the Federal District Court in San Francisco issued the injunction February 15 in a lawsuit BJB filed against Wilikeaks and Dynadot....

Swiss Bank's attempt to hide money laundering backfires
Swiss Bank Julius Baer convinced Federal court Judge Jeffery White to disable the website wikileaks.org to prevent access to leaked documents that implicated them of money laundering. The ensuing controversy has cast suspicion on the IPO bid of their US operation....

One of the most important web sites in recent months has been Wikileaks.org. Wikileaks has upset the Chinese government enough that they are attempting to censor it, as is the Thai military junta. Wikileaks is now under attack from a censorship effort by a California court....

Google wants to build a four-star hotel and conference center on city land in Mountain View, CA, but has so far refused to offer union organizing rights for the development's workers. On Feb. 7th, 100 members of UNITE HERE Local 19 and community supporters staged a protest and picnic at Google Headquarters to demand respect, fair wages and the right to organize for Google's future dishwashers, housekeepers and banquet servers....

Palo Alto's NO IRAN ATTACK Resolution: Judy Kleinberg Speaks
In a 6-3 vote on December 10, 2007, the Palo Alto city council passed a resolution calling for the United States government "to refrain from any preemptive action in dealing with any unconfirmed threat" and to use peaceful methods to resolve issues with Iran.
On December 13 councilwoman Judy Kleinberg who co-authored, introduced and made a passionate plea for a YES vote on the resolution, met with anti-war activist Iranian-Americans, MoveOn members, and Raging Grannies in Palo Alto's Lytto...
