Since 1945, various UC Berkeley faculty members have used this land as a site for research in biological control, the practice of controlling pest populations by creating a system with stable populations of natural enemies. In the past ten years the Gill Tract has, at times, been utilized as an urban farm, employing at-risk youth and providing food for local non-profits and community members. Currently, UCB faculty members use the Gill Tract for agricultural-related research....

Representatives of the Klamath River tribes, Friends of the River and a commercial fishing group (PCFFA) are in Scotland this week to protest the dams that Scottish Power's subsidiary operates on the Klamath.
