Warren Langley
Former President of the Pacific Stock Exchange, Lt. Col. Warren Langley (USAF-Ret), marched with hundreds of demonstrators and made the decision to commit civil disobedience by helping to barricade an entrance of the Exchange and then sit in the middle of an intersection until he was finally arrested. During what might be the final days before an invasion of Iraq, he does not want 'business as usual'....

M14 Protest: Boobies for Ashcroft!
Forty or so "Boobies for Ashcroft" marched from Van Ness Ave. to the Federal Building as employees left the building for the day around 5:00pm. The crowd bared their breasts as they chanted "Boobs Not Bombs" or "More Boobs in Public, Less Boobs in Office" and carried signs condemning U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft's policies including the war against drugs and against sexuality, noting particularly his decision to cover a barebreasted Lady Justice statue wit...

Crackdown on Independent Media: CHP Rescinds SF-IMC Press Credentials
Perhaps in connection to SF-IMC's coverage of the forest defense movement in Humboldt County, CHP Commander Tom Marshall wrote to 8 SF-IMC reporters that their press credentials have been rescinded and will no longer be recognized by CHP personnel. Cc'ed was the Humboldt County Sheriff....
