CEO Privatizing Channel 29 CTC Community Access In San Francisco
Zane Blaney, the CEO of the San Francisco Community Access Station has unilaterally turned
more of the resources over to non-profits and prevented increased usage by the community. He
has argued there is no additional resources to stream programming but most recently he
contributed thousands of dollars worth of resources for programming by the SF League Of
Women Voters....

The debased and servile state of the US media was on display in its response to President Bush’s Thursday night speech in New Orleans. Press reports and commentaries were largely favorable, depicting Bush’s words as a serious effort to grapple with issues of poverty and inequality that have never before been on the radar screen of this administration, and his proposals as a significant pledge of federal aid to the victims of Hurricane Katrina....

We believe that Pacifica should not allow workers and women to be treated by the manager in ways that justifiably outrage progressives when they happen to workers at Mitsubishi or Denny’s. The Pacifica National Board has the power to overturn the Local Station Board’s vote and remove Campanella, but it needs to hear from concerned listeners....
