Toxic soil dumped by Carroll Street in the Bayview Hunters Point
This is not the first time we have to report to the SF Health Department and the Department of Toxics and Substances Control (DTSC) that some one is dumping toxic soil on land in the Bayview Hunters Point. On Carroll Street there is this parking lot used as a over flow when the parking lots linked to Candlestick are full. Innocent folks park and near by is the worse type of toxic soil and no one informs them of this hazardous material....

Bike lanes on Illinois Street in an Industrial Area
Mayor Gavin Newsom and Sophie Maxwell have no consensus from the public at large to decide what is best for folks that live and work on Illinois Street. Sophie Maxwell will go with the flow because she is not educated on issues. The Board of Supervisors may think they voted right but as any sensible person knows the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) or Study on any important project is a must. While bike lanes may benefit some in other areas - it adversely impacts those in a industrial area. ...

Water Board Extends Ag Waivers For Five Years
Every reporter that went to the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board seemed to have a different idea of what actually happened. Here's my take on the meeting - the board approved the agricultural waivers, although it included a bit more accountability in the waiver process. However, the Delta food chain is in crisis, farmworkers living in areas with contaminated water are getting sick and dying of cancer, the Central Valley rivers are less healthy than they were three years ago...
