Medicine Lake is being threatened by geothermal development. Many NorCal Tribes regard Medicine Lake as sacred for spiritual healing waters. Calpines drilling for geothermal energy would bring toxins such as hydrogen sulfide to the surface in large amounts. This would destroy the balance of Medicine Lake.....

Among other things, it found that for the second year in a row, by the government’s own numbers, the number of people in poverty increased dramatically.
