On the anniversary of April 7--return to the docks!
April 7, 2003 was a day we will not soon forget. It was our first protest against the war profiteers who operate out of the Port of Oakland. The police shootings which occurred on that day guaranteed that our commitment would be a long one. This year, on Wednesday, April 7th, we will return to the docks to protest the profiteers and reaffirm our First Amendment rights....

A number of recent incidents of police abuse and violence are coming before
the Citizen Police Review Board (CPRB), the official local watchdog agency.
We need the community to come out and show the CPRB that Oakland won't stand
for violent, racist and potentially murderous police to walk our streets....

Alameda County Warns E-Voting Corporaton Diebold
Clark's letter revealed a greater array of problems with Diebold equipment and ballot-printing services than the county previously has acknowledged. For the first time, Clark's letter suggests Alameda County also had unspecified "programming problems" in the Democratic and American Independent Party presidential primaries. Teacher/ Activist Cesar Cruz Fired For Caring About Students and Parents Instead of Profit
International Activist, Poet, and Elementary Teacher Cesar Cruz was fired Monday at Downer Elementary School. The firing occured after an article was published that documented Cesar's organizing of a 70 mile march on Sacramento by students and parents to protest budget cuts at their 99% people of color school, as well as the presence of the nearby prison and oil refinery.
