The funeral of Tookie Williams, cofounder of the Crips
Stanley Tookie Williams, one of the founders of the Crips, was murdered by way of the death penalty's lethal injection, by the state of California, under the governance of Arnold Schwarzenegger, on Dec. 13 '05, at San Quentin Concentration Camp on the shore of San Francisco Bay. He had been convicted of multiple murders on no evidence but the testimony of a police informant, who was given a more lenient sentence after he lied to convict Tookie Williams....

Clarence Ray Allen, a Choctaw Indian, will turn 76 years old on Jan. 16, 2006, the day before the state intends to execute him on January 19, in San Quentin. Immigrants Abused in INS Detention
I bring this to you after being in INS detention for 2 months. I was detained by INS for no specific reason and was slated for deportation to India. While in INS custody I met with other detainees who have been in INS detention for period ranging from a few years to one Sikh detainee who has been in INS limbo for 9 years being shunted form one INS facility to another....

People of color pay millions more monthly for home loans
San Francisco – The California Reinvestment Coalition released a new report Thursday finding that people of color, communities of color and rural towns are more likely to receive higher-cost home loans and that people of color in California could be paying $50 million more than white borrowers every month as a result of higher-cost home loans....
