A Weekend of Networking at the LPFM Radio Roundup in Davis, California
On October 8th and 9th, KDRT hosted the Low Power FM Radio Roundup in Davis, California, an event which brought together volunteers from both long established and emerging community stations around California and Oregon.
The conference provided a space for volunteers from all these stations to network and share skills and experiences. The event included trainings in radio journalism, internet streaming, radio theater, and covered a variety of station management and legal issues....

This articles brings us up to date on the effort to bring Public Access TV to the Fresno area. There is both good and bad news. The good news is that the City of Fresno has renewed the contract with The Buske Group who are consultants and that “levels the playing field” in the negotiations with Comcast. The bad news is that the County of Fresno is about to agree to a contract with Comcast that does NOT include a Public Access channel or Community Media Center....

Bringing Home The California National Guard: A Code Pink Campaign
Our campaign is gaining momentum! The cities of Santa Cruz & Berkeley have joined San Francisco in adopting the Resolution; Oakland, Sebastopol, Fairfax and maybe Petaluma should be on board in October. Loni Hancock, our Berkeley Assemblywoman, has introduced the Resolution AJR36 to the State Assembly, prior to their recess September 8th. About 22 legislators have co-authored AJR36 - we need about 23 more and aim for a vote when they reconvene in January 2006....
