Bush admin proposes regulations making it easier to kill bear, cougars, fox, and wolf
The Bush administration proposed last week to relax restrictions on aerial gunning and poisoning of “problem” wildlife such as coyotes, foxes, mountain lions and wolves in designated Wilderness areas and Research Natural Areas on Forest Service land. Wilderness and Research Natural Areas are the two most protective land management classifications the Forest Service has, and both were formerly off-limits to predator control programs except in limited circumstances....

In 2000 the federal government created the Pacific Leatherback Conservation Area, banning gillnets within it to protect Leatherbacks that come to feed in the rich waters off the California and Oregon coasts each fall....

Judge Rules Against South Central Farmers, Lawyers to Appeal
LOS ANGELES, July 26, 2006 - Judge Helen Bendix rejected all the farmer’s claims in the case South Central Farmers vs. Ralph Horowitz and the City of Los Angeles today. Attorneys for the farmers say they will appeal the decision to the appellate court. The verdict does not come as unexpected, Judge Bendix has ruled against the farmers in the past only to be overturned in appeal....

ALERT: EPA ACCEPTING COMMENTS ON PESTICIDE RESIDUES IN FOOD
I'm glad they don't have flouride in the title because at this point a lot of people just turn off to anything where people are saying that flouride is unhealthy because they associate that with a lot of other nutty stuff. If 7000 EPA employees are calling for limitations, you have to wonder....
