Activists forced the hand of the County Clerk's Office of San Mateo County, California on National Freedom to Marry Day, February 12, 2010. Same sex couples tried to register for marriage licenses and were turned away. But far from being upset at the demonstration, San Mateo County workers were part of the event as well.
