Students Unite Against the UC Regents November 16th and 17th
Make Yourself Seen and Heard to the UC Regents!
The UC Regents will be meeting at UC Berkeley's Clark Kerr Campus on Wednesday and Thursday, Nov 16th-17th. Wednesday the Regents will be voting to raise student fees another 8% ($492). Thursday they will be voting to cut financial aid. The regents meeting agenda is here.
On Thursday, November 17th, there will be a March to Stop the Fee Hike! People will meet in UC Berkeley's Upper Sproul at 9am.

Students Arrested at Powell Speech Protest Accuse Police of Racial Profiling
Police arrested eight people Friday night at the San Francisco Bay Area's De Anza College while protesting against a visit by Colin Powell. Six of the eight arrested were Muslims. Students are accusing police of using racial profiling and excessive force while arresting activists during the demonstrations....

Protests rotated around the building and towards the end, took place predominantly in the special parking area/access to the building and later the enterance to the De Anza College campus on Stevens Creek....

Foothill Anti-Capitalist Action Committee Shuts Down Military Recruiters by Default (audio/mpeg 1.9MB)
The Foothill Anti-Capitalist Action Committee spread the word of a protest on November 1, 2005 against the military recruiters who table in the quad every Tuesday at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California. However on this Tuesday, the military recruiters failed to show up. It looks like the military learned about the protest and thought it would be a better idea to stay away from it, rather than be the focus of the demonstration.
