The Cincinnati 12. $5,000 to $25,000 bails for jaywalking arrests? Arrested for being "uppity?" One arrest was similar to fatal asphyxiation arrest of Roger Owensby in November 2000. According to reports (one is copied below) the Cincinnati 12 were given $5,000 to $25,000 bails, essentially for jaywalking in a white part of Cincinnati, Mount Adams, and acting differently from your basic white yuppies in a yuppie part of Cincinnati....

This follows up the piece, http://www.indybay.org/display.php?article_id=100937 which clicks to a Chron article on the Duke energy remodeling project in Moss Landing. This is where a County Supervisor did a Backroom deal with Duke energy and the Elkhorn Slough nonprofit origionally opposed to this remodelling. After $8 million from Duke, some of which will be used purchase land from the county supe... Here is topo map jpeg of the area....

"No one is free until all are free." This is amazing. As someone who lives in the Cincy area, I can tell you that the [in]Justice Center jail is notorious at times for its brutality. To put these posters, boards, and shopping cart there takes guts. The jail solidarity people also turned the official jail center US flag upside down. Guts! Especially after the brutality of some of the arrests of the Cincy 12. Some are in the infirmary. From the brutal arrests and from brutality by the guards....
