textUS Policies in Post-War Iraq by Brent Hurd
President Bush has requested an additional 87 billion dollars to help stabilize Iraq and Afghanistan. The funds -- equivalent to about one fifth of the U.S. 2004 defense budget -- would support military deployment and reconstruction efforts. The president made the appeal to the nation in his first public address since he declared an end to major combat operations in Iraq last May. He spoke amid growing criticism that he has failed to devise an effective post-war plan for Iraq....

textCorporate Media LIE Exposed - Clark Says He Would Have Voted for War by repost
How will they try to cover themselves for the absurd lies they've been telling, now that Clark himself has come out to clear the record? Most likely they won't say anything at all about their own articles being wrong, or cast blame on someone else. Even here they're focusing in on Clark waffling in his statement. They may turn on him with their packlike mentality, but we'll have to wait and see. For now, thank GOD we don't have to email and post stories like crazy anymore to try to dispel...

textRIVER: How does a typical raid by foreign troops feel. Iraqi describes raid on her neighbo by River, pseudonym for Iraqi girl
One of them keeps an eye of the 'family' while the rest take a look around the house. They check bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms and gardens. They look under beds, behind curtains, inside closets and cupboards. All you have to do is stifle your feelings of humiliation, anger and resentment at having foreign troops from an occupying army search your home...We constantly hear about families who are raided in the small hours of the morning. textAUDIO: Robert Fisk discusses the extraordinary death toll Iraqi civilians are incurring by DemocracyNow.org
I went to one hospital where the mortuary attendant told me that almost 40% of the total dead that come in to their mortuary are killed at U.S. checkpoints by soldiers, either because the cars approached too quickly to the checkpoints or because American troops come under fire and fire back at the civilians in the area without making direct contact with whoever is their aggressor. One occasion recently for example, four days ago a woman and her child were brought dead to the hospital after th...

textIn Defense of the Boycott of Israeli Academic Institutions by MONA BAKER and LAWRENCE DAVIDSON
The boycott against Israel, and in particular that aspect of it directed against academic institutions, has drawn wide spread criticism. Much of this has come from people who are, to one extent or another, partisans of Israel. But some of it has its origins among those who have genuine concerns that innocent Israelis are being unnecessarily hurt, or that the boycott is undermining valued principles such as academic freedom and the free flow of ideas. It is to this latter group that we would l...
