On Tuesday, May 23, UC Santa Cruz's custodians, part of the union AFSCME, continued their hard-fought wage parity campaign by staging a respectful protest inside Chancellor Denice Denton's Brown Bag event. The National Labor Relations Board has given The Shattuck an election date! On June 16th, between 4:30 and 6:30pm on location at the theatre, the workers will have the opportuinty to make their voices heard and vote for the union....

On Wednesday 5/17 the UC Regents held a meeting at UCSF. Students, Workers and unions were present, primarily in response to UC's plan to cut workers' pensions. The unions were united & unapologetic, cheering loudly as three California State Senators including Figeroa (D) and Maldonado (R), called for Dynes' resignation....

These are photos from the rally. We met at Dr Powers park in the middle of Tracy, held a brief rally, and then Marched 4 miles to the Chevys where we held a symbolic picket. Most of the passing drivers that reacted at all honked in support. Only three or four gave us the finger or shouted negative comments at us. Neighbors mostly showed support, although one chickenshit sprayed their garden hose at us from behind a wall....
