Local 2 Takes to the Streets on Labor Day. Over 130 Arrested. Part 1.
Hundreds of hotel workers and their allies took to the streets this Labor Day to demonstrate their growing impatience with the San Francisco Hotels Multi-Employer Group, which is taking a hard line in negotations with Local 2. One of Local 2's main goals for their new contract is to have it last for two years. Then it would expire in 2006. The goal, Wilhelm, president of UNITE HERE! says, is to have all contracts expire at the same time.
