As the threat of war grows, Prime Minister Jean Chrétien stood on U.S. soil last night and warned the United States that it is not trusted in the world and needs United Nations legitimacy for a war on Iraq.
"The price of being the world's only superpower is that its motives are sometimes questioned by others," the Prime Minister said....

Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat has agreed to appoint a prime minister - meeting a key demand by the US and Israel.

Israel accused Belgium of anti-semitism yesterday following a court decision which could lead to the prosecution of Ariel Sharon, the Israeli prime minister.
The Belgian supreme court ruled on Wednesday that Israeli military commanders could be prosecuted for complicity in the massacre of 800 Palestinians in Lebanon in 1982....

I guess all the rallies get covered by KPF- but they've never put out this call before, to bring your boombox and broadcast wherever you are. That has huge potential . . . . Still, I like all the little transitory bands at our marches too . . . but too bad our cities weren't idiotic enough to crack down and ignite the movement 10 fold over here....

This unspeakably heartbreaking letter gives a close-up view of the current conditions in Iraq and the sheer terror, hopelessness and inevibility the Iraqi civilians feel in the face of Bush?s insane, unjustified and immoral attack on their country.
As George McGovern said this morning on C-Span: ?In the 1991 Gulf War 200,00 Iraqi people lost their lives in an attempt to get one person - Saddam Hussein.?
So now we are prepared to kill untold thousands once again, in the pursuit of this man...
