The California Department of Fish and Game is currently conducting a criminal investigation of the giant fish kill at Prospect Island, located in the north end of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta about two dozen miles south of Sacramento. Meanwhile, there are a lot of fish, mostly striped bass and forage fish, still alive, but fish are continuing to die as I write this. A force of volunteers plans to go to Prospect Island on Sunday or earlier to rescue the remaining fish....

Thursday, November 29, 2007 : The world's industrialized nations (except for the United States and Australia) agreed 10 years ago in Kyoto, Japan, to take steps to slow global warming. They haven't accomplished that goal. They have until 2012, and then their agreement expires....

CHINA is running out of fuel. Police are guarding petrol stations in several inland provinces to prevent fights, as shortages of petrol and diesel are causing huge queues of trucks, buses and cars.
In Kunming, capital of the southwestern province of Yunnan, 1000 trucks are stranded.
A truck driver named Li told the Chuncheng Evening News he had been stranded at the Stone Tiger Gate petrol station for three days after searching for fuel in other places, but failing. He said his delivery ...

Bans on commercial growing of genetically-modified (GM) canola crops have been lifted by the Governments of two Australian states - New South Wales and Victoria - despite pleas from the Western Australian and Tasmanian Governments, and over 250 companies in the food business to maintain the moratorium, and Japanese food buyers urging continuation of the ban in October. The moratorium on GM canola will be lifted from February/March 2008....
