The Bay Area Coalition to Fight the Minutemen is mobilizing an action to oppose the Minutemen Project's rally to gather public support for their attempts to harass poor, undocumented border-crossers and to announce their support of a new initiative that would establish a state
border police in addition to the existing federal border patrol. This rally will take place in Sacramento on the Capitol steps on October 29th from 10am to 12:30pm....

Despite a recent federal court ruling, timber cutting continues in and near the Sequoia National Monument. Sierra Nevada Earth First! activists were in the woods again this past weekend surveying timber sale units in the Frog, White, and Ice sale areas. Pictures illistrate the story told....

Central Valley Earth First!ers organizing
Earth First!ers are needed to organize in the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valley (aka Central Valley) to bring visibility to corporate logging corporations like Sierra Pacific Industries, suburban sprawl in wetlands habitat, potential extinction of endangered species as loss of vernal pools continues, effect of toxic pesticide drift used by corporate agribusiness, dams blocking anadromous fish migrations, etc.....

A heads up on a rally by the Minutemen from info off of their website. Details of the fight to stop this rally upcoming. This heads up is especiallly important so those in Sacramento can organize early agaisnt these racists and so that those in other areas can figure out the logistics of getting there....
