Two Arrested Near Farmer's Market, But the Beats Continued On
On September 17th, two people were arrested in Parking Lot #4 alongside the Santa Cruz Farmer's Market. Police lined Cathcart Street displaying batons and a riot control gun, but quickly drove away, while seditious beats emanated from the drum circle below the trees. San Fracisco does not get it with Lennar but San Diego surely has shafted corrupt Lennar.
The Marriot chain of hotels has decided not to have any dealing with the corrupt Lennar Corporation that the City and County of San Francisco has embraced. Marriot has decided that it will pull out and have nothing to do with building thousands of rooms - in one of the largest developments in San Diego. Good for San Diego. Linked to this project - many heads are falling. Where ever Lennar makes its appearance - corruption is rampant....

Tenant Describes Landlord Negligence
An East Palo Alto tenant describes safety issues resulting from landlord David Taran's negligence at apartments owned by his company, Page Mill Properties. While tenants suffer, the exchange of legal challenges continues between the City of East Palo Alto and the landlord. Recently the city obtained a court order to compel Page Mill to produce documents it has denied city attorneys in a case that has tenants and displacement watch observers eagerly awaiting an outcome.

When the Big One strikes - is San Francisco Office of Emergency Services - ready?
When the Big One strikes - San Francisco must be ready. As things stand - the San Francisco Office of Emergency Services - talks the talk but cannot walk the walk. When the Big One strikes there will be a lots of finger-pointing and stuff like that. It is amazing to hear - folks that - purport they are "experts" talk foolishly - with no real plans, no empirical data, no captains in place linked to some hubs, quadrants, or centers in the various neighborhoods - that must be geared into action ...

Keeping Santa Cruz Weird: Is Drumming a Crime?
On September 10th, the City of Santa Cruz took measures trying to prevent the weekly gathering and drum circle in Parking Lot #4 alongside the Farmer's Market. New mesh fences and several police officers were not enough to prevent Raging Grannies and other free-thinkers from singing, playing instruments, sharing food and reclaiming an important community space under the trees. Police took surveillance photographs, passed out information, and harassed some people, but the drum beats and musica...
