Solidarity Means AttackAnti-Racists Send a Message at San Francisco CIS HeadquartersAn anonymous communiqué reads: On January 18, as strong winds raged, 30+ anti-racists attacked the Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in San Francisco. We thoroughly painted the walls, smashed the windows, and breached the building to wreak havoc inside.... We join all prisoners and ICE detainees who continue to fight by way of hunger strikes, escapes, and riots against repression and neglect from the State. We see you, we hear you, until every prison door and border wall is open. Solidarity means attack!]]>2021-01-26T07:08:25Z2021-01-26T07:08:25Zen-USAmericasCaliforniaCity of San FranciscoFront PageImmigrant RightsInternationalPolice StateRacial JusticeU.S.image/jpeg

International Call for Free and Fair Elections in HaitiBay Area Rallies on International Day in Solidarity with People of HaitiUPDATE: On October 3-4, Hurricane Matthew killed hundreds of people in Haiti, causing untold damage. The elections will not be held as scheduled, after already having been postponed repeatedly throughout this year. A new date has not been announced yet by the electoral council.
September 30 marked the 25th anniversary of the coup that overthrew Haiti’s first democratically-elected president, Jean-Bertrand Aristide. U.S. Central Intelligence Agency agents were present with the Haitian military during the coup. Protesters marked the day with rallies in the Bay Area cities of Palo Alto, Oakland, and San José. The U.S. government financed fraudulent elections in 2015 and new elections will be held on October 9 of this year. At the Bay Area rallies, demonstrators standing in solidarity with the people of Haiti demanded free and fair elections in Haiti without U.S. interference.]]>2016-10-05T02:32:07Z2016-10-05T02:32:07Zen-USAmericasCaliforniaFront PageHaitiPeninsulaimage/jpeg
