Following the march in San Francisco, one thousand people joined a radical anti-capitalist breakaway march and militantly marched through the financial center smashing windows and graffitting symbols of U.S. oppression, such as, the SF Chronicle, British Consulate, CitiCorp, the INS building, Starbucks, and Victoria's Secret. There were two confirmed arrests. One protester said, "The anti-globalization movement may be dead, but the anti-capitalist movement is alive and well."

5:25Cops are guarding the Gap. Rumours have it that something is happening at the Civic Center/City Hall, so marchers are heading there along with IMC folk.
5:10Around 3-400 people. Cops are everywhere. Reputed leader of the march who was targeted by undercover cops key was being violently arrested which caused a melay. 1/18: A massive anti-war protest happened today in downtown SF calling for no war on Iraq. The crowd stretched continuously from the foot of Market St. and filled the Civic Center to capacity.
