3/16: At a press conference prior to the governor's fundraiser, for which Schwarzenegger is asking as much as $89,200 per couple, the Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights unveiled the Century Plaza "Cash Syndicate" – the big industry executives who are hosting Governor Schwarzenegger's fundraiser at the Westin Century Plaza Hotel. The syndicate – the hosts of tonight's fundraiser – has already contributed more than $5 million to Schwarzenegger....

Sequoia National Park authorities have found
at least 40 marijuana fields in the last two years. Last year, five
undocumented Mexican immigrants were arrested in one of the fields,
according to a National Park Service investigator who did not want to be
identified....

A Coarsegold man with a medical marijuana card faces felony drug
charges after agents from the Madera County Narcotic Enforcement Team
(MADNET) seized more than 200 marijuana plants growing on his property
mid-day Monday, March 8, plus more than two pounds of processed marijuana....

Assemblyman Greg Aghazarian (R- Stockton) is
sponsoring a bill that would make it a felony for parents to use
marijuana or other controlled substances in the presence of minors
under their care.

Assemblyman Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, is pushing a bill that would
allow California farmers to grow industrial hemp. That comes about a
year after the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the federal
government did not have the authority to regulate hemp under the 1970
Controlled Substance Act....

ASA has been alerted that yesterday (3/15/05), at about 6pm, Los Angeles Police
raided the United Medical Caregivers Clinic (UMCC), a medical marijuana
dispensing collective. The police obtained a search warrant and came with
approximately thirty officers to seize all of the collective's medicine and
money....
