he days between Christmas and New Years have provided a welcome respite on the Yellowstone border. Buffalo Field Campaign (BFC) patrols continue to rise before the sun to stand with the buffalo, and we've been basking in the quiet time spent in their presence....

Last Thursday wild bison advocates gathered in Helena, Montana for a press conference, held right down the hall from the office of Governor Brian Schweitzer. Simultaneously, our national call-in day to the Governor was underway....

Tell everyone about Americas inhumane secret. Spay and neuter is needed to humanely prevent healthy pets being euthanized in America every year. There are not enough homes for the 6 million homeless pets America murders every year. Tell everyone you know what is going on in shelters near you.
The dogs you can see in these pictures are scheduled for euthanization in just one animal control shelter in less than a week....

Former ALF prisoner Darren Thurston was arrested last Wednesday and is currently being held in an INS detention center in Tacoma. His extradition is based on his conviction for raiding a Lab in 1992. He was also subpoenaed to the Eugene grand jury for Feb. 16th, 2006

Most animals in New Orleans died because Governor of LA Kathleen Blanco, FEMA and Mayor of New Orleans Nagin refused to let people affected by hurricane katrina to stay with their pets or to return to New Orleans to rescue their loved family pet members. At least 40,000 companion animals were murdered because of the government left them to starve to death or suffer injuries. Many thousands of former pets remain displaced by Hurricane Katrina and its
aftermath. Many of these pets are existing in now unpopulated and unsafe
areas, unable to be rescued by their owners.
Volunteers are still needed to feed and humanely trap these pets; holding
facilities are needed throughout the region to provide temporary housing;
and a major public campaign must be launched to encourage the fostering and,
where needed, the adoption of these pets....

Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO) and Alley Cat Allies (ACA) rescued 50 cats today from a trailer park in Kenner (near the New Orleans airport). FEMA plans to bulldoze the park in order to put up trailers for displaced Katrina victims. People, many of whom are disabled, are still living at the trailer park, and now face being displaced themselves....

Los Angeles Animal Services General Manager Mr. Guerdon Stuckey routinely states that there has been a decrease in animal shelter deaths within the past year; however, the facts seem to point to an increase....
