by Alex Darocy
Homeless individuals returned to sleep at Santa Cruz City Hall on January 5 for the twenty-sixth community sleepout. Facing intermittent downpours of rain, some slept in a large tent on the sidewalk in front of the city hall courtyard. Signs attached to the tent read, "No Sleep Til Justice." Princeton, Ore., January 7, 2016 – Yesterday, PETA staff delivered packets of high protein vegan jerky to the militant cattle ranchers occupying Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, and today, we’re going back with a message of “conversation over conflict” to dish up protein-packed vegan chili—this time intended for law enforcement, Native Americans, and others on site in the hope that the slaughter of cattle and wildlife will become a focus of discussion.
