Despite a very rainy day (unusual for October), Berkeley Critical Mass took the streets of Berkeley back for protest and celebration, turning the tables on fascist earthmamakillin' autodomination. For over THREE HOURS the relatively small group LIVED LARGE all over town to pumpin' PUMPKIN tunes, a prelude to the WALLOPIN' WHOOPIN' to come (Halloween Critical Mass in SF, the legendary, on Oct. 26)....

Friday, October 12, 2007 : With Halloween just three weeks away with no sanctioned party, the City has been vague about how to deal with thousands of people who may still come to the Castro. After the Police – and most city agencies – did not attend a recent meeting of anxious neighbors, the Police Commission held a hearing on October 10th to find out what plans the City has for the “non-event.” Frankly, the answers are not encouraging....

On September 23rd, the Santa Cruz Trash Orchestra led a noisy parade to the San Francisco Mime Troupe performance of Making a Killing, Building a New Iraq. In the style of a cacerolazo, parade-goers beat on makeshift drums and tambourines while marching as a metallic cacophony from Laurel Street up Pacific Avenue and across the river to San Lorenzo Park. CM on Friday September 28 had the biggest turnout yet with over 50 riders. As we rode we noticed bike lanes being added throughout Midtown. Our movement is intended to raise awareness and make bicyclists throughout Sac feel comfortable to ditch their cars and share the roads on their bike....
