Seven San Francisco activists from the squatted social center called the SF Commune, were brutally attacked by police and arrested Thursday evening after being invited into the SF State University dorms by students there. One individual was tazed and another was reportedly shoved into a paddy wagon where police continued to viciously beat him. This happened less than 36 hours after the campus visitors were violently evicted from the SF Commune by riot-clad SWAT police on Wednesday morning. ...

The SF Commune, a community center and social space for organizers in the Ocean View district of the city, was raided early this morning, Wednesday, May 15th, 2013. Summary: On Monday, university police raided the all-volunteer farm at the Gill Tract. Four people were arrested. One of them was Brooke Marino, a geography student from UC Berkeley, who was standing on a public sidewalk outside the property. As seen in the vdieo footage, Marino was being nonviolent. Occupy the Farm has gathered at the Gill Tract in Albany, CA, and walked back on to the land to replant uprooted seedlings and put some new plant starts into the ground. The Southern part of the Gill Tract is in danger of being zoned differently than the northern part, Whole Foods dropped their bid, there has been an ongoing community battle for the proper usage of this farmland. It is the last of the A1 type land [agriculture,] in the east bay. The community at large would like to see the farm drop GMO and corporate sponsorship, and not sell the land to commercial real estate developers.
