wild was in the tens of thousands throughout the system, including
tributaries, and thousands of fish returned to the Trinity River Hatchery.
This robust return was expected since ocean fishing has been completely

Critics or not of the process, every fishing coalition, family angler, diver, coastal community and marina or harbor district maritime related businesses in the previous 3 Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA) "study regions" are already suffering economic impacts from recent implementation protocols. And everyone reluctantly, participated in being processed.

The MLPAI will spell the doom of an already endangered species -- the Californicus Fisherendus - those elusive creatures once known as a California fisherfolk - the people who know and love the ocean from long firsthand experience, and who are not being adequately consulted in this outrageously unwise and unjust give-away. And the real perils to the ocean - pollution, acidification and global warming - are not even being addressed....

This morning the Klamath Justice Coalition used a human blockade of 15 people to defend Karuk sacred sites from logging activities. The action took place near Orleans, CA within the Six Rivers National Forest and halted work on the Orleans Community Fuels Reduction Plan. “The OCFR is actually the Orleans Culture and Forest Reduction plan,” said Leaf Hillman, a Karuk Ceremonial Leader in Orleans. Today, the Northcoast Environmental Center formally announced their withdrawal from the Klamath Hydroelectric Settlement Agreement. They find too many opportunities for parties to withdraw from the deal and too many preconditions and off-ramps along the path to potential dam removal in 2020. The NEC believes linking dam removal to the controversial and costly Klamath Basin Restoration Agreement would unduly burden Klamath dam removal legislation....
