Berkeley Pries Open Votergate, Calls for Immediate Investigation of 2004 Election.
By unanimous consent, the Berkeley City Council adopted
the "Resolution Supporting the Request that the Government
Accountability Office Immediately Undertake an Investigation of Voting
Irregularities in the 2004 Elections." Drafted by Berkeley's Peace and
Justice Commission, the Resolution also lists 17 measures to improve
elections....

Observers needed from any city for Berkeley recount of Measure R.
As you know the original count of the Berkeley vote showed Measure R loosing
by 191 votes. Measure R was proposed to the voters of Berkeley to correct some
guidelines passed by members of the City council that severely restricted
Grow limits, permitting new Cannabis Clubs, or the relocation of old ones. In a
city this large, that is a very small amount of people to lose to....
